"Bemberg" Rayon Lining or Cuprammonium Rayon Lining is preferred by high-end fashion apparel designers because it is lightweight yet durable, silky to the touch, cool against the skin, breathable, and resists static cling.
Bemberg is a regenerated cellulose fiber. It is made from cotton linter. This is the fuzz around the cotton seed, not usually used in the production of cotton fabric. Thus, Bemberg reduces waste. Since Cuprammonium Rayon is made of cotton, it is biodegradable and breathable, unlike other synthetic liners. It has a lower environmental impact than other liners, even when burned.
It has a silk-like feel but is vegan.
